It's Summertime - Let's Hit the Beach!

Ahhh!  Summer is finally here.  My favorite season.  In Indiana that sometimes means the days are hot and steamy!  But I don't mind that as long as I have a place to cool off.  To some that mean's air conditioning, to others it means a swim in the pool, lake, river or for those lucky enough, the Atlantic or the Pacific!  Here's a few things to take along to the pool or beach:

Organic Beach Bath Towel Traditional Peshtemal Ocean Blue Light Soft And White Stripes Natural For Travellers

Here Comes the Bride!

Thirty Three years ago I married a great man.  We've had our ups and downs as most couples do, but we persevered and continue to lead a great life.

We have two really cool sons and this weekend, both are home to attend the wedding of one of their good friends.  We, too, are invited to this wonderful ceremony and I am looking forward to celebrating with the bride and groom and their families and friends.  Our house was the "hang out" house when the boys were growing up so many of their friends were just an extension of our family.  They were "our kids".  And it's always great to see your kids happy.

For those of you married, take a moment to remember the beauty of marriage.

What a wonderful weekend this will be!  Happy Mother's Day to each and every one of you!

Here Comes The Sun!

The last week has produced horrendous storms in the mid and southwest.  And although, the area in which I live had storms, we were so very fortunate that nothing serious or damaging occurred.  What we did have was a week of rain and clouds.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by the areas hard hit.

The work week ended with the wedding of Kate and William.  I admit it - I watched it....and then I watched it again when it was rebroadcast.  I couldn't help myself.  There's a princess in my body!

And today, Saturday, what can I say.  It is to be a beautiful, sunny and warm day.  A wonderful ending to a mixed-up week.  I hope there are many of you with sunshine in your life today!  Live life to the fullest my friends, and enjoy the sunshine!!

Now That The Kids Are Gone......

I live vicariously through my friends' grandchildren!

My husband and I have had the great fortune of raising two wonderful sons.  These "boys" are now responsible, educated and successful adults.  They've lived in really cool places that we've been able to visit - so I guess you can say we live vicariously through our children as well.   So what do I do when I need a "little kid" fix?  I simply call or visit my friends who have grandchildren.  I love babies and little ones.  So it's always fun when I find great gifts or ideas for these bundles of joy.   Etsy Store owners make such beautiful products -  Fun and full of color.  Here's just a few products I thought I would share with you.....

Ode to Pink

I can't help myself....I love Pink! In all shades too.  I'm not sure when I really started to love this color.  I know that I rarely wore the color as a child.  But as an adult, I just can't get enough of it.  Don't get wrong, I like other colors too.  Bright fun oranges, yellows, purples, blues, greens.... you get the picture?  I just love color.

For 20 years I worked corporate and wore lots of suits.  Black, blue, brown.  And the only way to brighten up my outfit was to wear a colorful blouse, scarf or piece of jewelry.  Those days are gone and now I can wear anything  I like.  So my closet is becoming more colorful.  But just for today - I was thinking - I love Pink!

Girls Just Want to Have Fun!!!

I love that old Cyndi Lauper song!  And that has been my motto for many years now.  I just want to have fun.  Don't get me wrong - I think I work pretty hard at my various jobs and businesses.  But I sure like to have a good time during work, and, especially after work.  Life is really too short not to enjoy, don't you agree?

My latest endeavor with FancyThatBags! has been fun on several different levels.  I have the opportunity to meet and get to know so many other entrepreneurs...some wonderfully talented individuals.  I have the opportunity to design and create products that other's enjoy using.  And I have the opportunity and freedom to take FancyThatBag! to new heights.  It's quite a learning experience - all the different aspects of running a business can be overwhelming at times.  But I will persevere.  I will continue to be a good student.  I will continue to create.  And I will continue to share some great products with you.

I Want An Easter Egg!!

How many of you remember that old Bugs Bunny cartoon when the Easter Bunny retires and Bugs gets the job? For the last couple of days I have been remembering that cartoon and the little boy in the cartoon saying "I want an Easter Egg, I want an Easter Egg!!"  Isn't it funny how our memories work?

Easter is upon us and it also brings about another memory of my mother and how she collected various things.  She loved owls and she loved those little Faberge type eggs.  She had one that sat perched in a gold latticed stand - very colorful.  I don't have that egg and don't really know whatever happened to it, but I can see it as if it was yesterday.

So, with Easter just around the corner, I thought I would share some really cool eggs I found on Etsy.  When you think Easter, what pops up in your memories???  I hope you'll share those memories with others.
